Melvin D. Thornbury, Jr. M.D., F.A.C.O.G
is American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists (ACOG) board certified, a member of the Alabama Medical Association (AMA), American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists (AAGL), and the American Urogynecological Society. He has almost 30 years of experience providing gynecological, obstetrical care while promoting the health of women. Dr. Thornbury received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University and completed his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is a veteran of the United States Navy. After years of service, Dr. Thornbury returned to his hometown of Albertville to deliver high quality, compassionate care to his community. He practices exclusively at Marshall Medical Center South. He is married to his wife, Patti, and has three children, Katie, Stephen, and Abigail.
